As the effect of current economic turmoil in Indonesia grows from bad to worse,
social tensions become one of the everyday news. The condition were made even
worse by the country current political condition, as it prepared itself to appoint its
President and Vice President for the next five years.

Currently, riots occured mostly on West Java and Middle Java provinces. Angered
by price hikes, angry mobs attacked and often burned stores belonging to ethnic Chinese,
the apparent scapegoats for the worsening economic condition. Not only that, mob
has also targeted churches, many were vandalized, and burned down.

This page is used to report what has been going on in Indonesia right now, particulary
the growing persecution towards the Christian.

The crisis causes the shortage of staple foods, better known in Indonesia as Sembilan Bahan Pokok, abbreviated into Sembako (Nine Staple Foods), especially to the poor people. In order to help them go through this crisis, we are organizing a fund raising effort to buy foods for the needy.
