A Note from Cross Point Desk
Cross Point Editor

Dear Cross Point Readers,

Welcome to the Cross Point October 07!

Through Cross Point Journal, we continuously hope to facilitate the dissemination of Christian worldview in the public space. We realize that it is through the process of reading, writing, challenging and exchanging ideas; our perspectives will be sharpened and enriched. We also hope, through this journal, our readers would be more informed about FICA-CSS activities.

Two of our friends: Ellen Victor and Irene Sulaiman, write reflection journals on their journeys toward following God’s callings. Ellen writes on her story of motherhood and how it subtly and eventually relates to a bigger society. Irene writes on her discernment to pursue a higher education in Law and her future goal to serve God in the area of Law. Our CSS director, Sunny Tanuwidjaja, shares recent CSS activities in the CSS Updates and Reports. Also, OMC-14 chairman, Adison Wongkar, provides a report on the OMC-14 / TPM-14 that was recently held in Chicago, IL on Aug 31 – Sept 3, 2007. And in response to OMC-14 main theme “Revisiting the Problem of Social Capital in Indonesia”, Rinto Dasuki writes an article on “Building Social Capital - Motivation, Biblical Basis, and Practical Applications” and Buntoro Sugianto writes on: “Social Capital: Is it possible in the pluralistic society? Learning from the successes and failures of the United States of America”. Finally, we would like to share Rev. Rinaldy Damanik’s interview in this publication.

We would like to invite our readers to share your ideas through article or journal writings; please let us know if you are interested. If there are any critics and thoughts on how to improve Cross Point Journal, please do not hesitate to contact me at crosspoint <at> fica <dot> org.

To God alone be the glory,

Cross Point Editor
